Dr. George Arciga has been taking care of local foreign and
dental tourists for decades at his clinic near Pedregal. He
takes his own x-rays, cleans teeth himself and more. His
dental assistant when needed – is another doctor, who
assists when doing large treatments. Like 27 crowns for a
dental tourist in 10 days. Best of all are his low prices.
Porcelain crowns are over a hundred dollars less than the
fancy places in Los Cabos, and a fraction of prices in the
US. You can save enough money here on a full-mouth
restoration to buy a condo. Well, perhaps a studio condo
several blocks up from the beach. But you get the picture.

Dental Care In Cabo – Finding The Best Dentist For The Least
Dinero
Thousands of foreign tourists visit Los Cabos every year to
save money on their dental care from laser whitening’s and a
few crowns to full cosmetic dental makeovers. There are many
options for the dental tourist ranging from a non-English
speaking clinic in a barrio for having a tooth pulled for 50
bucks to going to a dental spa with swimming pool and
leather sofas, where you’ll end up paying more than just
about anywhere else in Mexico. If you want quality dentistry
– and don’t want to pay for frills, visit Cabo Cosmetic
Dental Clinic downtown Cabo several blocks up from the
Marina Tesoro Hotel. Dr. Arciga has been doing general and
cosmetic dentistry there at very affordable prices for over
30 years. He speaks perfect English and is considered by
many to be one of the most experienced, and gentle dentists
around. Goto: www.cabocosmeticdental.com
Cabo’s Master Dentist
Saving Money The Old-Fashioned Way
By CHARLES MATTHEWS
BAJA TRAVEL WRITER
Dr. Jorge’ Arciga was one of the first dentists in Cabo. He
was here when Marina Blvd. was a dirt landing strip where
John Wayne would fly in to go fishing for 1,000lb marlin.
Much has changed over the years, except Dr. Jorge’s clinic.
He still prefers to work alone, and up until recently used
an ancient motorless dental chair “It never lets me down” he
told me the first time I met him. “Dental tourists on
vacation can’t afford to wait for a new chair motor to
arrive from Mexico City,” he adds. It made me think to
myself of several power windows in cars I’ve owned that
refused to budge and understand that he’s practical. But
eventually he gave in to modern technology and purchased a
new one – from Brazil, for a fraction of the cost of one
from the USA.
Nevertheless, this old-school maestro uses the latest
sterilization equipment, intra-oral camera, computer, and
the best specialists around when needed because he knows the
difference between what’s best, and what’s an unnecessary
expense that only adds to the cost of treatments. Like
$15,000 dental chairs. I’ve been a patient in clinics with
the high-priced chairs, expensive rent, and I’ve paid the
freight. Often at the larger, more expensive places – you
get young dentists not long out of dental school. I’ve seen
that in Los Cabos, Tijuana, Mazatlan and Juarez. In
dentistry as well as other arts – age and experience
matters. Known for affordable crowns and full-mouth
restorations, the maestro is often booked well in advance.
But Dental Tourists get priority appointments. Even if it
means rescheduling a local patient. He takes Sundays off -
to run marathons.
